Comments: To reviewer Cyn, you don't know Shauna very well do you? Plain and simple Shauna does not know how to run a business and takes nothing from the advice of experienced individuals. Simply put Detour is a dump, the owner is a ditz.

Comments: For me myself I'm a drinker 3-4 times a week. I have heard so many things about detour and read a lot about that place too! I guess I can't say anything bad until I try myself. But, there is no way I will want to risk my life trying to enjoy life.....Just detour and go elsewhere. This place seems to be trying to attract the younger crowd and enjoy the amusement of the troubles. Keep clear and go enjoy at Kim's, she's consistent no matter who and where you're from.

Comments: Hey JM so your the Bartender, Server, Cook and mouthpiece at Detour? Are they in that bad shape that they can't afford one of each? Sad shape huh. Yup your right ex customers like to complain about crap establishments here on line. Howbout taking care of the roach infestation? Add another title to your 4 jobs pest controller! You are just like the Haitian family on In Living Color "I got 14 Jobs Mon!" Good Luck :)

Comments: Everyone is so eager to put down Detour and post bad comments... if you have the nerve to post a bad comment, at least tell us who you are. Detour is a work in progress, and personal issues are personal issues... this a web site designed to review restaurants and eating establishments... so I don't understand why people are bringing personal issues here. And people need to realize that this is HILO... a small town with like 8 bars, all of which have their downfalls. It's not the bars that get the bad reputations, it's the small minded people that turn a good thing bad... so all you disgruntled customers need to relax, you are not the only person in the world. I don't know anyone in Hilo that is famous or even extremely wealthy, so no one deserves more attention than anyone else. If you don't like the service, go somewhere else... we will do fine without all the DRAMA!!! Thank You!

Comments: I hear the owner is frustrated and selling the bar. She can't handle, it seems. She should! Someone else could most definitely do a better job.
